So, you ask your coach, business partner, or mentor a question “what’s the best way to get started”? That to me would be a very up-front question with may answers. I’m not going to answer this question because it’s just to illustrate my madness. I bring this topic up because I caught myself may times training new employees from my prospective and my understand of a subject.
If you ever been on the receiving end of new training at work or in your business then you understand that puzzled look that individuals get when the teacher or speaker pauses! Yea you know, your eyes are glazed over and everyone looks like the next episode of The Walking Dead. The point is before you ask a question use the resources you have to get your answer. I know I got off topics somewhat, the responsibility of any teacher is what? To teach, so the student learns the material not to hear you blab about how much you know. I can talk all day long about creating your own list because that’s where the money is. Now if I said your list is a list of businesses, clients, and contacts and a good example: Your local grocery store might have an advantage shoppers card where you get fuel perks and discount’s on future sales, right? Now the customers behind each card would be the grocery’s list.
When you build your home business to help people with a problem they have, the solution needs to be a specific issue you solve for them not just “A business coach”.
Today as a teacher I wanted to go over some important differences about what a friend is, what an email on your list is, and who are your “friends”.
Quick and simple a friend on social media is nothing more that a persona of people that relate to you or all have a related issue (subject) Chevy car group, got dumped, etc.
Now here is where you need to make a distinct separation from someone on your email list that signed up to download your free eBook and the someone who read your eBook and opens every email you send them. This is where the magic starts to happen in any business, remember customer, reputation, and products?
Now they have engaged your product (eBook) to find some cool tidbits that can help them see or solve an issue for them while building your reputation. Don’t get me wrong here because most people just want the free item to hoard like a squirrel, get content for their eBook, or really finds value in it! Yes there is a 4th one and that’s totally steal the whole eBook and put their name on it and sell it, really my friend had this happen.
The last subject is now that they (really) downloaded your eBook to learn something, do you have a customer? Yes you do because not all customer need to buy from you they just needed a solution to a problem they had at that time. The goal to keep in mind is it’s your job not to sell every new money making product out there as more to provide your knowledge.
Now on the other-hand you wouldn’t go around giving all your secret detail out to strangers, right? There is a time to ask for the sale and there’s a time some people just need more information about what it is you have that they need.
Weather your seasoned or a new business owner Learn to Teach and Teach to Learn but research your question yourself until you dream about it (seriously). Then and only then will you start to get that passion deep inside of feeling accomplished. You’ll see you wont sleep for the next couple of days.
